About this deal
While the dust brush attachment isn’t the best at picking up dust, it’s a minor drawback that it’s easy to overlook. We were impressed with the pick-up: the vacuum collected fine dust, larger debris and pet hair from all surfaces.
The flagship model in that lineup is the Shark Stratos UltraLight, which shares a name and a few features with its cordless stablemate. In boost power mode, it seemed to pick up hair from furniture much more effectively than a similar vacuum we tested recently, the LG CordZero All in One Auto Empty Cordless Stick Vacuum.Overhead cleaning using just the wand makes the task less cumbersome than with other cordless vacuums. Dyson vacuums tend to be smaller, more maneuverable, a little more potent, and are available with a wider array of attachments, while Shark vacuums have a greater debris capacity and feel a little more solidly built.
If we compare the Dyson V15 Detect with the Shark Anti Hair Wrap we’ve already mentioned, the Shark model offers 40 minutes run time while the Dyson has a battery life of 60 minutes.
Shark has also long-touted the self-cleaning capability of these primary brushrolls, which use plastic fins to capture any long strands of hair before they can foul up the mechanisms. The display also shows the battery level percentage so you can see at a glance when it's running low.
